NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER
 
Hi Folks, The rhodo’s and azaleas are at their best . Cameras all polished, ready to create!
 
NOVEMBER MEETING
This will be held at the St Johns building, Monday 14th November, 7.30pm , please note the change of time!
 
Our monthly speaker will be Brent Hollow who has been a travel photographer of note.
He has a long relationship with photography and has worked in the health industry for many years.
He will be presenting “Seven countries in 6 weeks, 6500 frames.” He will also present his current image in the Wallace Art Awards (noting one image has been acquired by the Wallace Art Collection).
 
NEXT COMPETITION
The set subject is “Rust”, hoping for great red, orange, brown tones.
 
The images need to be in by the evening of the meeting.
Please be aware of the new sizing requirements.
 
This is the last of this year’s competitions; but wait, there’s more.
 
We have decided to have a Best Annual image competition. Terry Maguire has agreed to be the judge.
One image per member.
The image can be any you have entered this year, or any other images that you have captured this year.
Images to be submitted by the usual time, midnight 14th November; usual format.
Submit as a Casual Submission on the club image submission page.
 
TRIPS
We have chosen 20th November to be the day we traverse the Nevis Valley as a day trip. Of course this will be weather and snow permitting. It is hoped we will be able to share transport.

FIRST DAVE WETHEY WORKSHOP
“Life after shooting auto and getting the best from your lenses with a view to creating effective compositions”.
Sunday Dec. 4th has been decided .
A four hour field trip from Arrowtown. 
This will be $60 per person. He suggests we should be there by 9am.
Please contact Prue  of your interest.
 
CHRISTMAS DINNER
This has been set for the 12th December at the Golf Club as last year, 6.30 for 7pm.         $45 / head.
There will be a presentation of awards.      It should be a great evening.
Please send your intentions to the club email, as early as possible.
 
With that in mind , would the holders of last year’s awarded cups please return them at the next meeting or to one of the Committee members before the next meeting.              Much appreciated.
 
LIBRARY PRESENTATION
 Jacqui Scott has agreed to present a paper on the WCC at the Wanaka library, The library has information evenings regularly, and have asked us to present something on behalf of the club.
The evening will be on Thursday 10th November in the library from 5.30 - 7 pm.
 Bob is backing Jacqui up, and it would be good if other members could attend for support.
 
REQUEST
We have received an email from Ian Porter who is looking for a new camera, possibly a Pentax K-50  or a K-500. He is asking if any member has one, he would be willing to come for a demonstration.
His ‘phone no. is 03 225 8802.
 
AUTUMN EXHIBITION
Next April the club is exhibiting at the same time as the Festival of Colour. We shall keep you posted on the event.
