EXHIBITION UPDATE                                                                    February 2017

Hi Folks. Happy New Year!
Jacqui and the Subcommittee along with Mike Horder thought it timely to send out this letter, as it is only 5 weeks until we need all the images submitted.

This year’s exhibition will coincide with the Festival of Colour in the first week of April.  We will be exhibiting from the 5th -9th April.
There likely will be an increased number of people visiting as the venue is in the boardroom of the Wanaka Hotel, directly behind the Festival tent.

We need about 100 images so you are all invited to submit 5 or 6 each.  It is important that the photos need to be mounted in high quality matboards. Old matboards with marks, warps, or damaged corners will not be accepted.

Jacqui has asked that we submit our work in 12 x 16 inch matboards with an A4 window. This is smaller than we have been using in the past. Obviously if you have cropped your images in post-production, the A4 window cannot be used.
Framing Online have an excellent service: http://www.framingonline.co.nz/shop/mats/mats-to-fit-standard-frames/x_cat/00558.html
Each is around $12 .

Tony Lynch at 45th Degree on Ballantyne Rd is happy to do these, probably for a bit more.  www.the45thdegree.com

I have purchased around 200 small transparent hanging sticky triangles. We want to hang each work with 2 of these so the works will not tilt during the exhibition.
Please do not attach your own triangles if you have them as I have to check how far apart they to be to match the holes in the boards.
You will need to name your work with your name and title either with a tag on string or by writing on the back.

We need to have all the works submitted at the March meeting, Monday 13th March when we will have a workshop to finalise the works and assign numbers.  Assigning numbers then will save a lot of time during setting up the exhibition.

Remember this is only 5 weeks away!!

All the best, Rob Norman, Jacqui and the Subcommittee.
